Convicted Murderer and Democratic Donor–
When a wealthy political donor is tried and convicted of sexual predation and murder, one might expect that trial to get a fair amount of media attention. The same could be said about that individual’s sentencing, particularly when it essentially amounts to a life sentence for the felon in question.
Yet when a mega-donor named Ed Buck was found guilty of nine felony counts last summer, not just for murder, but also for distributing methamphetamines and enticing men for prostitution, we barely heard a peep from the mainstream media. Similarly, when the 67-year-old Buck was sentenced on Thursday to 30 years in prison, what we heard from the left and their media on the matter amounted to crickets chirping.
Have you seen any widespread coverage of this story? Of course not, and the reason is clear. Buck is a Democrat who had contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to prominent Democratic politicians including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA).
Additionally, Buck was generous in handing out funds to leftwing causes including various LGBTQ activist groups, animal rights organizations, and his own “animal welfare-centric political action committee.” In short, prior to his downfall, Ed Buck was the perfect Democrat who supported all the right people and all the right causes. And that’s not the time of murderous, sexual predator that the mainstream media wants to shed light on.
According to reports of the court proceedings, Buck was fond of “meth-fueled sexual encounters” with men with whom he would provide temporary housing and/or monetary compensation. (continued)
