Cancel Culture Calling-
For fans of the long-running game show Wheel of Fortune, one thing you’ve never seen or read about is friction between host Pat Sajak and hostess Vanna White. Not only are the two on good terms, they’ve been close friends for over 40 years in an industry that is notorious for its backstabbing and internal squabbles.
But that’s not stopping the woke mob from coming after Sajak for a harmless joshing he gave to White the other day.
For those who haven’t seen it, the duo tends to end each show with friendly banter after the completion of the competition. On Wednesday’s show, an opera singer was the winning contestant bringing in quite a haul, and the back-and-forth between White and Sajak focused on the contestant’s occupation.
Here is a video of the exchange, but first, a trigger warning: If you’re a leftist with nothing better to do and looking for something to be offended by, you might be able to find something in Sajak’s comment… if you try hard enough:
Pat: “Are you an opera buff, at all?”
Vanna: “I’m not a buff, but I like opera.”
Pat: “Have you ever watched opera in the buff?”
Not surprisingly, and what’s become a sign of the times, within minutes of the show’s conclusion, the attacks on Sajak began to pour in. Here are just a few of the examples:
- “I feel like I just witnessed a #metoo moment on @WheelofFortune?”
- “I was tired of Pat’s s–t then, and I’m tired of Pat’s s–t now.” Referring to something Sajak had said in the 1980s
- “@WheelofFortunesomeone please replace this man. @patsajak is absolutely inappropriate asking @TheVannaWhite if she’s watched opera naked? Are you serious? Gross.”
Compounding the situation for Sajak is the fact that he’s white, outspoken, and conservative. Combine all those factors and Pat Sajak becomes a prime target for cancel culture.
But Sajak should stand his ground. Don’t apologize, don’t give in. (continued)
