It’s gotten to the point that satire cannot keep up with reality, which is a shame for reality, because this insanity is not healthy and doesn’t lead to anything good.
On the global stage, the left has tried to blame Donald Trump and his supporters for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It doesn’t really matter that Putin didn’t invade under Trump’s watch nor that Biden let Afghanistan fall, is letting Ukraine disappear, and will likely witness the invasion of Taiwan, Japan, or some other Asian country to North Korea, China, or both.
Orange Man Bad.
It is with this childish worldview that one CNN guest was able to, with a completely serious demeanor and straight face, suggest that the insane meltdown of cuckold Will Smith at the Oscars this weekend was the result of some manifestation of Trump’s ascendence to normalcy. Or something.
Fox News writes about the conversation:
“CNN’s Asha Rangappa decided the Dolby Theater crowd stuck around because of Trump.
“So did like anyone walk out after that happened??? Or are we getting an independent psychological case study on how Trump got normalized?” Rangappa asked on Twitter.
Rangappa was swiftly mocked for blaming Trump for the incident.
CNN famously drifted away from its once-nonpartisan style to an anti-Trump, liberal network under former boss Jeff Zucker, who was forced to step down earlier this year. Incoming boss Chis Licht is expected to attempt to steer the network back toward the just-the-facts approach to news that founder Ted Turner intended.”
Without being coy, I admit I don’t even know what that comment means. I have no grasp of what a case study in the context (continued)
